Just a couple of feature requests.

I would like the capability in the future to have an option to save files newer than 'x' days from certain folders and lose the rest, e.g. recent, history, cookies to help prevent bloat on these components.

A nice future component wuld be something that can migrate user settings from 32Bit OS to 64 bit OS (would help those Win2k3 to Win2k8R2 migrations), primarily with the major applications (adobe, Office) but extensible so that you can create mapping files to redirect as required. I already have a few opportunities that would be looking for something like this and it would make it a much easier sell if I could use FPAE to manage this.

The use of mapping files would also be great for application updates whereby you may want certain settings moved within the registry / user system as upgrades are performed. Will help in enviromenmts whereby users switch between computers running different versions and keeping certain things in sync.

An option to right click on configuration and say, create archive now. Makes it easier to update default / mandatory archives

All in all, an improved product all round.

not a real feature request but just one to think about:
Using the template for Office 2003 I thought (that's were I went wrong) that if someone enables the custom dictionary it would also be "flexed", which it isn't :-(.

Maybe it's a nice extra tickbox to set in the template :-)
The settings are:
[IncludeRegistryTrees]
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Shared Tools\Proofing Tools
[IncludeFolderTrees]
<AppData>\Microsoft\Proof

I'm at a customer which is implementing IFP to migrate from a 100% roaming profile to a IFP.
The templates are oke I think but I'd like to have an tickbox at the profile cleanup tab. That tickbox should say something like remove settings from roaming profile.

Now I have to set it manually in the profile cleanup tab. Which makes the scrambling of the templates in the first place irrelevant ;-).

I'd like to see a make new GPO setting which makes the "Profile Archive path" hidden. Now I have to create a custom logonscript (attrib.exe without cmd because that is blocked)or I have to take out the FlexProfiles folder into a new share.

The customer tells their users to cleanup all of their folders. And because the users don't know this folder, they will probably delete it.

I'm missing a DTAP ;-).

The way I'm doing this now is to misuse the silo functionality. Within the silo object I created a folder DTAP --> Test and copied all content of folder general into the test folder. This way admins can test the adjusted or new INI files on a test machinhe with a different GPO.

I know this is a cosmetic request, but with a copy to... right mouse click this is a new feature.
Pointing the console to a different location is very confusing because it is not obvious to which environment the consolo is pointing to.

Feature request regarding backups (or maybe I don't know how to setup) is to create daily backups instead of number of backups.
At the current customer we switched (finally) to IFP. The admins know how they can reset flex settings (deletion of archive), but I would like to implement IFP Self-Support if users can switch to a backup from a day/week ago. At the current moment users experience an issue, log off, logon (that's being told by Supportdesk) for several times and in this way backups are irrelevant. If they can switch back to a setup from a day (or 2) ago, which they're sure off it's correct it would be much more helpful (and easier to explain).
If not clear enough, just drop me an email (or call) to clarify :-)

I would like to see dates added to the Profile Cleanup tab. I want to delete files older than a certain date. I have to do this with a logoff script right now. I don't need cookies or recent files older than a certain timeframe.

Also, Profile Cleanup needs to start with a Folder Token but there is no folder token I can use to cleanup. I will use a logoff script for this too.

I also can't delete the user StartMenu or Startup folders because it is blacklisted.. We don't need those folders any more because we redirect the ProgramsMenu to a share for everyone. We don't need them anymore so would like to clean them out of the profile.

2012-04-24 13:05:02.881 [DEBUG] Profile cleanup: Cleaning folder '<StartMenu>'
2012-04-24 13:05:02.881 [ERROR] Profile cleanup: Skipping blacklisted folder '<StartMenu>'
2012-04-24 13:05:02.881 [DEBUG] Profile cleanup: Cleaning folder '<StartupMenu>'
2012-04-24 13:05:02.881 [ERROR] Profile cleanup: Skipping blacklisted folder '<StartupMenu>'

Thanks
Matt

Matt,

In the next release, you can optionally configure to only export files that have been modified in the last X days. Combined with Profile Cleanup, this will pretty much cover your request, I think.

I don't understand; what exactly do you want to clean up? Flex only supports files and folders in the user profile — anything outside that is indeed not supported.

The blacklist for Profile Cleanup can be overridden (we just don't want to make it too easy to remove a lot of files by accident). If you add \[FORCE DELETE] to a blacklisted item, the blacklist check will be skipped. So, in your case <StartMenu>\[FORCE DELETE] and <StartupMenu>\[FORCE DELETE] should do the trick.
