We have been using the reconnAct tool for several years and love it. We recently built a XenApp6 windows 2008R2 farm and we use the new version and launch it from a vbs login script ran from the appsetup key. We noticed we had sporadic login times. Sometimes we had normal fast logins and other times the login time was up to 20 seconds slower. We tracked this down to the ReconnAct launch. When it is commented out of the login script we have consistently fast login times.

Any ideas what could be causing a sporadic slow login with Reconnact?

Mike,

With what arguments are you starting reconnAct exactly? Are you using the -l switch to run a command when launching reconnAct, and could that maybe be the cause of the delay?

I think we figured it out. We control all the startup in our script which includes cmstart.exe. We moved cmstart and the reconnact.exe startup further from eachother in the script and we have not seen the delay. So maybe cmstart.exe was not fully initialized when reconnact was starting???

Mike,

Glad to hear that you managed to tackle this. I don't know much about Citrix, so I can't assess whether ReconnAct may have been waiting for cmstart.exe to finish, but I'll definitely remember this as a potential solution if a similar question pops up in the future.
